I am from Monterrey, México, I have been in the music world since I was under 5 years old. I have been producing for 6 years now and have been studying the language since 2006. I’m Selin Asar, an experienced and trained musician teaching voice and piano lessons for over seven years now. It doesn’t matter how young you are. I’ve worked with people of all ages (from 6 - 60 years old) and the age has never been a problem when it comes to learning. So long as you're passionate to learn, I’ll help you every step of the way. I studied in the opera-choir department of Ankara University State Conservatory. After graduating with an honours degree in the opera department, I continued my education to be a teacher. It allowed me to work at various art schools and improve my skills in teaching voice and piano lessons. I realised I need to get even better if I want to change people’s lives and improve the education system so I embarked on a master’s programme at Necmettin Erbakan University, Department of Educational Sciences. The best part of that is I qualified for the Erasmus+ Internship Program here in the UK. I’ve been teaching here for over 2 years, highly adapted multi-cultural education approaches. I’m keen on following well-thought-out lesson plans, developing authentic teaching materials and activities. I teach through visuals, games, songs, chants. And I incorporate real-world materials and technology in my lessons. I believe that as a teacher I must also keep on learning and improving myself. I taught myself music from scratch. It was a rough process. But it made me firmly believe anyone can learn music. If you can count to 8, you can play music on nearly any instrument. Musicians make music seem more complicated than it actually is. I love teaching music theory like a language and I think it's important to start jamming as soon as possible. Before I was a music teacher, I was a behavioral therapist working with non vocal clients with autism. I do my best to condense lessons into a series of behaviors that build over time and teach a strong understanding of music theory.

Raafik has 20+ years of Music experience. He is born and raised in Singapore. He also graduated from Lasalle SIA College of the Arts (Singapore). His remarkable expertise in teaching are mainly on Vocal/Guitar/Ukulele. He also plays Guzhen, Gamelan and Pipa. He is passionate about music training and has experience in teaching at major music schools in Singapore. In 2012 Raafik was called in to teach at the one of the largest corporation in Singapore. A corporation where the wife of the Prime Minister of Singapore is working till this present day. With his experience in teaching students from different age groups, Raafik is able to communicate well with students of different age groups and background. He also performed in various stages and clubs in Singapore as well as the Esplanade and Suria TV channel. As a popular singer and guitar player, he was featured in Expat Living in 2008.

I have more than 20 years of performing, coaching, teaching, providing workshops, adjudicating all styles of singing that range from classical to pop to gospel to rock and much more. My purpose is to make sure that each student achieves success based on what he or she wishes to succeed. Hi! I'm Orla Conway and I can't wait to hear your unique sound. Before graduating with my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston, I was a professional theater actress from ages 12-16. I am a highly experienced singer and teacher, having been the Jazz Vocal professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London. I have a Bmus in jazz vocal studies and an LRAM teaching qualification. I teach all age groups and levels, from beginners to advanced in jazz, musical theatre, pop and classical. I can teach you to improvise, sight sing and develop your aural and music theory knowledge. I can also help with songwriting. I believe in healthy vocal technique using vocal exercises and developing excellent support. I have worked with notable great UK jazz musicians such as Gmilym Simcock (Pat Metheny) Tim Whitehead, John Turville, Orlando Le Fleming, Chris Higginbottom, to name but a few.

I have been teaching private lessons since I was in high school. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2018 with a degree in Music Education. I have been playing piano since the age of five, studying voice since the age of seven and guitar since I was eleven. I have worked in a variety of group and private settings. I have studied Jazz, Classical and Contemporary techniques on all three of my main instruments and focuses on wellness integration while teaching.

I began in the entertainment business when I was 7 years old and appeared in the British Movie Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush in 1967. After trying several proper jobs I discovered that I was actually “allergic” to real work and at a very young age I decided to become a musician. I studied Musical Theater and acting for 4 years at the University Of Hertfordshire in the UK and subsequently acted in several UK TV shows and movies including The Young Americans with Harvey Keitel and Judge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone. I am an award-winning writer of Musical Theater winning the Vivian Ellis Best Composer Award along with my co-writers in 1996. My shows have been staged in the West End of London at the London Palladium and Her Majesty’s Theatre. In 1990 I wrote the million-selling hit single Dirty Cash/Money Talks, which got to number 1 in the UK charts and number 25 in the US Billboard. I have also had two number ones in the Billboard Club Chart. In 1993 Simon Cowell signed me as an artist to his Arista label in London. Three months later the label went into receivership. I often wonder what happened to that Cowell chap! I was subsequently signed to BMG then Sony records as a vocalist for the band Surreal Madrid. Sir Paul McCartney produced one of the Surreal Madrid tracks. A month later I had the privilege of singing back up vocals for Paul at a Buddy Holly tribute gig in Trafalgar Square London. My good friend Dean Collinson then invited me to join his newly formed backing agency and my first gig was to sing back up for the Spice Girls. I teach vocals in a fun and educative way. I offer the full Pop Star experience. As well as instructing students in the techniques of vocal production I also teach them about the recording process, song writing and performance. I record all my students and we are constantly in production working on and recording new songs. I am happy to teach Musical Theater, Rock, Pop and R&B. I am not a “cookie cutter” vocal coach. I understand that we are all different and techniques that work for one person may not work for another. I work on a student’s uniqueness and individuality so no two lessons are exactly the same. Two years ago one of my students Whitney Lynn Smith got through to the first round of American Idol. She is now working on her first CD in Nashville Tennessee. Another of my student’s Élan is just about to sign with Sony EMI. Mary Rose has been signed to One Source Talent in New York and 19-year-old male vocalist Jay Todd who has been a student of mine for about 6 months has just signed a development deal with Atlantic Records in Boston. If I think a student has something exceptional about them I will, with the permission of the parents pass their details on to the many contacts I have in the US and the UK. A Bit About Me... I am 26, live in a village called Roade in Northamptonshire with my husband and our dog (aka the love of my life!) Dexter, who will no doubt make the odd appearance! I love singing, playing piano, writing music and helping others achieve their goals with all of the above... I have been teaching for 3 years now and wouldn't change it for the world - it is a joy seeing students progress and being part of their music journey. I have been in various productions including Annie The Musical (playing Grace), Bugsy Malone (Playing Tallulah) & Grease (playing Sandy). I have also appeared at various gigs and charity balls and performed for sports stars such as Ian Wright after receiving invitation from the local Mayor who had seen me perform at a previous event invite which was a great honour. I have my grades in piano and singing with ABRSM and gained Merit - Distinction in all exams. I hold a clear DBS check, certificate available. Hope to hear from you! Courtney.
