Hello, I'm Rafaella and I come from Cyprus. I'm 27 years old and I graduated from the Conservatory of Utrecht as a pianist in the Jazz and Pop department. I teach piano and music theory for 3 years, all ages from 5-100. I really enjoy to spend time with people who want to join this beautiful world. I'm a singer/songwriter with the artistic name Rafaella Mespilo and I perform, write and record music. If you want to join my lessons don't worry about prior music experience, isn't needed, only will :)

I am a 76 year old professional musician, with a 60 years experience in saxophone, conducting, flute, clarinet, piano, arranging, composing subjects. Having a Doctor Degree in Music. My music knowledge cover classical, jazz and brazilian music. I was teacher and director of many music Festivals, conductor and founder of Youth Jazz Symphonic Orchestra Tom Jobim, in 2001. Did many tours concerts in Brasil, Europe, USA and Japan. My goal as a professor in "Music Teaching Online" is to teach saxophone, flute, and jazz piano to all levels of students in terms of technique and musical taste "through Brazilian styles and repertoire", because this could be my differential contribution here.

Hello, I studied classical piano as a child for seven years but later decided to change genre to playing modern and jazz piano of which became my living. I studied with the London College of Music and obtained an advanced certificate in piano performance and composition. I also studied classical voice but later decided that jazz was my thing, so I studied with some of best players and singers who taught me my craft. I also teach keyboards up to grade 4, and have taught in primary schools, later opening a school of my own, where I taught jazz and pop piano/vocals and keyboards. I've been a professional musician for nearly forty years and have worked all over the world. I would love an opportunity to work on your platform as I am now winding down with the traveling and want to get back to teaching. A Bit About Me... I am 26, live in a village called Roade in Northamptonshire with my husband and our dog (aka the love of my life!) Dexter, who will no doubt make the odd appearance! I love singing, playing piano, writing music and helping others achieve their goals with all of the above... I have been teaching for 3 years now and wouldn't change it for the world - it is a joy seeing students progress and being part of their music journey. I have been in various productions including Annie The Musical (playing Grace), Bugsy Malone (Playing Tallulah) & Grease (playing Sandy). I have also appeared at various gigs and charity balls and performed for sports stars such as Ian Wright after receiving invitation from the local Mayor who had seen me perform at a previous event invite which was a great honour. I have been teaching for over 25 years and have had pupils of various ages ranging from 3 to one lovely gentleman who started clarinet at the age of 90. I have experience of teaching people with different special needs including one lady I teach piano to on Zoom - she is blind and each lesson with her is such a humbling experience. I can teach just for fun or for specific exam boards. I'm in the process of teaching myself the flute which is fun! I also teach recorder and music theory as well. I'm very patient and encouraging. I like to think I get on well with all my students and can tailor lessons to each specific student. We take the lessons at a pace which is comfortable to each individual and I always encourage them to ask as many questions as they like.

I’ve been playing and performing for thirty years, and have been composing for over twenty years. Not only have I performed at a huge range of events and festivals in across the world (including South Africa, Seychelles and the Middle East), but I was also nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2009 South African Music Awards as part of the Voodoo Child band, which I founded and directed. Hey there! I'm Paulina. I hold Master of Arts Degree in Music Education and Qualified Teacher Status obtained in England. I studied piano and accordion performance, improvisation, composition and music theory. Since then I have been traveling the world playing music and teaching it to students from many different countries and cultures, including the UK, USA, Poland, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Caribbean Islands. Being a traveling educator taught me to be very sensitive to diverse needs of each individual and to provide student-centered education that supports unique student’s goals and aspirations. Currently I accept students from the age of 7 to learn with me the art of playing piano and/or accordion - both very unique and mesmerizing instruments! I will teach you how to play beautiful french and italian music that stands at the core of accordion and piano's glory, but also darker and more complex music of the Balkans or South America (like tango), that will turn heads of anyone witnessing you play. As an academically trained musician I always include classical repertoire in my course as I believe any well-rounded musician should be familiar with and able to perform classical pieces. Like all other instruments, piano and accordion have evolved greatly in recent years. I will show you how you can use these instruments to play modern music including jazz and contemporary, but also popular styles like rock or electronic music. After years of education and gained experience I use a mixture of different methods, creating and adjusting my accordion course to each student's specific goals and aspirations. With my educational background in classical piano I teach solid playing technique based on Frederick Chopin's teaching method. Chopin was a passionate teacher himself, who developed an array of tools for learners to play their instrument in a relaxed, healthy and brilliant manner. To support the development of the natural creative senses of my students I also use the method of E.J. Dalcroze who developed a beautiful approach to learning music through experience, improvisation and active creation and E.Gordon - whose teaching is based on audiation, “sound before sight” learning, natural understanding of the language of music. To ensure healthy habits and prevent any playing-related injuries you will learn about Alexander technique - gentle, natural movement and relaxation should be at the core of each musician’s technical skills. The course also includes strong theory and ear training to build high level musicianship skills in my students, that will enable them to communicate with other musicians clearly and effectively as well as play not only solo but with bands, duets and orchestras, where listening and accurately responding to other instruments and musicians is the basis of musical communication. I have successfully led many of my students in their professional journey preparing them for internationally recognised exams, like Trinity and ABRSM, so if one of your goals is to gain these official qualifications we will include that in the course. Being an experienced performer, having played not only classical repertoire and concerts, but also being part of jazz, progressive rock and folk bands I adjust the course to support achieving your goals in the quickest and most effective way, without wasting your time on things that are not in your area of focus at the moment. I strongly believe that learning musical language should be approached as learning any language - by practicing speaking it as soon and as much as possible. That's why, when you learn with me, we go straight to the instrument, playing from the first moment. By using small and consistent steps you will comfortably speak the language of music, in time being able to create longer and longer phrases and sentences, making your own music and to read existing music in a more efficient and fluent manner. Most of all my teaching style is about the relationship between me and each individual student, so really it's ever changing and flexible. Just like our goals, dreams and abilities.
