I have a Music Education degree from the prestigious National University of Costa Rica and 2 years of experience teaching piano online on platforms like Preply. In that time, I've accumulated over 400 hours of teaching experience, helping students of all ages and skill levels reach their musical goals. Beyond teaching, I'm also a performing musician. I currently play keyboards for UN ROJO REGGAE BAND , one of Costa Rica's most prominent reggae bands. This experience allows me to bring a real-world perspective to my lessons, connecting theory with practical application. As a native Spanish speaker with fluent English, I'm comfortable teaching in both languages, ensuring a smooth learning experience for all students. I am a dedicated and experienced music educator and professional musician with over 30 years of experience. My journey in music education began in the early 1990s, shortly after completing my formal music studies. Since then, I have developed a strong passion for teaching, with a focus on modern music theory, jazz guitar, and composition. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students, helping them develop their musical skills in various instruments and styles. My teaching approach includes modern harmony, sight-reading, composition, and improvisation, with lessons tailored to each student's needs and goals. From 2000 to 2015, I was heavily involved in the music industry as a professional musician. I performed extensively, both as a solo artist and as part of collaborative projects, working with other musicians across various genres. During this time, I also composed original music for theater and film, showcasing my versatility and creativity as a composer. My work is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, iTunes, and others, where listeners can explore my compositions. Since 2015, I have been teaching music full-time in Germany at various music schools. My primary instrument is the jazz guitar, but I also offer lessons in piano, keyboards, ukulele, and bass. I take pride in helping students master not only their instrument but also the theoretical foundations of music, from modern harmony to composition. I work with students of all levels, guiding them through performance preparation, sight-reading, and developing their own compositions. In addition to teaching and performing, I continue to compose music and collaborate with other artists. I have played the piano since the age of five. My B.Mus degree provided classical training in addition to studies in other music styles. I hold an Honours B.Mus degree for which I worked with children to provide a multimedia experience using a school classroom for the purpose. I spent 10 years as a lounge pianist touring South Africa and neighbouring countries. During this experience I embarked on my love of creativity through improvisation which I inspired to share with students. I have done a considerable amount of private piano teaching apart from class music teaching.

I am a self-employed music tutor with six years of experience teaching guitar, piano, ukulele, and song writing/composition. I am a peripatetic teacher at a local school. I’m a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and former touring musician with decades of experience leading bands and choirs, and a passion for helping others realize their dreams. I began my career as a professional musician by working as a tenor section leader while studying music composition, conducting, and vocal performance. I also interned at Todd Hobin Studios, where I gained hands-on experience in recording and production. Over the years, I’ve served as section leader for several vocal ensembles, further developing my musical and leadership abilities. After earning my BA in Music, I returned home and stepped into a directorial role, where I continue to lead, perform, and collaborate across a wide range of musical styles.

I’ve been playing piano since age 9 and added violin and trumpet to my studies at 13. I hold a BA in Classical Trumpet Performance and Music History from Laurentian University, with a minor in Canadian History, and an MA in Musicology and Theory from the University of Ottawa, where I also worked as a teaching assistant in theory and history. My main instrument is trumpet, though I play piano at RCM Level 9 and also teach violin. I’ve performed with ensembles including the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Northern Brass Choir, and Nickel City Wind Ensemble. I’ve taught music in schools, studios, and privately, including founding and directing a Sea Cadet Band on Manitoulin Island. Now based in the Sudbury area, I teach privately both in person and online, and recently led music programs at four Greater Sudbury Libraries. I’m committed to continued professional growth and recently completed the Royal Conservatory’s Teaching Intermediate Piano course.
