My personal specialities are pop and musical theatre - but I love to sing and teach all genres of music. Experience & Qualifications I've been singing and performing all my life, and studied to become a qualified vocal coach three years ago. As I studied, I took on several one-to-one clients as well as teaching group classes across the area for a range of different singing and theatre schools. I've prepared over 60 students for LAMDA drama and musical theatre exams, passing with distinctions, and helped students to achieve first places in countless regional competitions and festivals. If you're looking for a lesson for your child - I'm also a qualified youth worker, and have 5 years of experience coaching, mentoring and supporting children and young people. I'm DBS checked, trained in safeguarding and first aid, and most of all, absolutely love working with young people. Seeing the confidence of a young person grow through the arts is one of the most amazing things to witness!! Lesson Style Overall, I would say my teaching style is informal but effective. Lessons won't have rigid structures, but all of my students do have targets and objectives to work towards, which we will figure out together in your first lesson or two. Lessons with me will always have freedom - if there's a particular song we didn't plan to cover, but you want to try, or something in your own practice that you've been struggling with, I will always adapt! I love all genres of music and I'm happy to work with you on any song you would like - whether you're preparing for an audition, a show, a competition, working in music, or just want to improve your singing technique as a hobby! As I've grown up with music and performing, I'm really passionate about how important the arts are for our wellbeing - so I'll always make our lessons a safe, welcoming space. There's no judgement here, I'm very beginner friendly. I'm also excited to teach more advanced singers, and will help you to notice small changes you can make which will transform your sound and your vocal health.

Hi, my name is Jameson Burton. I am a multi instrumental musician and teaching artist. I pride myself in having 20+ years of experience teaching primarily guitar and saxophone, but also a wide variety of instruments and styles outside of that specialization. My passion for jazz, rock, classical, and folk music presents a diverse pallette of skills and experience. I have been performing as long as I have been teaching. I find it to be an important part of an educator's lifestyle in order to relay meaningful information to their students.

I began my musical journey at age 13 when I was awarded a scholarship to The Purcell School of Music, where I studied clarinet, saxophone, piano, and singing. I later received a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where I completed my BMus degree. From the age of 18, I have worked as a woodwind coach for the Music Makers summer courses, and over the past 20 years I have taught one-to-one lessons and ensembles at every level—from beginners to Music College students—across a wide range of settings including schools, music services, and private tuition. My students have gone on to study music at university, including at Oxford University, and have gained places at Junior Conservatoires. In addition to my teaching experience, I am a qualified Music Therapist with extensive experience working with children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental-health challenges, and social or emotional needs. My teaching approach is centred on building a positive, supportive relationship with each student and fostering a genuine love of music through relaxed, enjoyable, and engaging lessons.

I have played guitar in rock/metal bands and bass guitar in the Capital Concert Brass band. I am a passion young musician with not only formal but informal education and experience too. I started my music career in primary school learning the piano and continued on to study music at the Nelson Mandela University. I added vocals to my formal training at university to enhance my vocal ability classically. I was part of a choir since primary school through to university joung the international acclaimed Nelson Mandela University Choir as a tenor. I have freelanced since 2016 as a Vocalist for backing and lead for live concerts formal and informal settings, as a tutor to beginner piano and vocals. After I graduate I started my own company and teach privately and perform occasionally.
