I have 5 years of experience teaching private violin, viola and piano lessons of ALL levels, and I've had the pleasure of serving as Resident Conductor of the University of Connecticut Chamber Orchestra as well as Assistant Director of the Southington Festival Chorale. From performing with The Piano Guys to The Rustic Ramblers, from Les Miserable to Into the Woods, from worship music to electric fiddling, I've had the opportunity to learn from musicians of all genres. I am a musician and music teacher with over 15 years experience, and am passionate about sharing the joy of music via lessons tailored to my students individual needs! I offer creative, dynamic and energetic teaching, with a student-focused outlook. About me: Having learned violin from the age of 7 and with a degree in Popular and World Musics (Leeds University) and an MA in Composition for Film & TV (Bristol University), I have a solid grounding in musical theory and substantial experience of both teaching, performing, composing and recording. I tailor lessons to the needs of individual students. I am experienced in teaching both adults and children. Specialising in helping my students to build confidence in their playing and learning, and with that showing them how the learning process can be enjoyed. For adults, I offer friendly and fun lessons tailored to the desires and needs of the student. For children, I specialises in engaging beginner children in a range of instruments and helping them concentrate, enjoy the learning process and feel the enthusiasm and joy that music brings. Shortly about my background: I studied violin (modern and baroque), organ, and music pedagogy at City of Basel Music Academy and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. I'm a specialist in historically informed performance practice and have an extensive teaching experience: instrument playing as well as music theory and music history.

I have coursework in Jazz from UMass Amherst, Musicology and Composition from Amherst College, Music Theory from Mt Holyoke College, and violin from Smith College. I am a founder and President of Mandolin New England, a 501c3 nonprofit mandolin orchestra. I have been teaching adults and teenagers how to play fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo and flatpicking guitar since 1986

I studied at the Elder conservatorium of music where I completed a Bachelor of music performance with a jazz guitar major, I have also taught violin for a number of years up to AMEB grade 3. My students have consistently competed in eisteddfods and have usually placed. I am currently studying a master of teaching through Curtin University and have worked within the department for education in South Australia as an instrumental music teacher, I have my working with children check in QLD (blue card) and South Australia, mandatory reporting and an authority to teach instrumental music form the teacher registration board. I teach both jazz and classical because both offer the student different things in terms of technique, improvisation, aural ability and application of music theory and analysis. I teach AMEB theory, AMEB classical guitar and AMEB violin and incorporate curriculum from Mel Bay; Turner and White and the Australian Curriculum and Assessment Reporting Authority (ACARA) when helping students with school based music learning. After university I founded and ran my own record label and recording studio, started the world’s first ‘Bandeoke’ band and have taught 100s of pupils in groups and 1-1 lessons. I offers instrumental lessons from beginner to grade 8 in; guitar, voice, cello, bass guitar and double bass, and from beginner to grade 5 in; piano/keyboard, violin, drums, ukulele and music theory. I am a trained opera singer, studying under Chris Booth-Jones from the Royal Academy of Music, and have performed in many musicals and stage productions, taking the lead roles in; Oliver, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease and Oklahoma. I have taught at many schools and colleges, starting my own courses and leading string groups, orchestras, choirs, theory groups and bands. When I'm not teaching or gigging I work with musicians from all over the world as a freelance recording artist/session musician/composer/arranger/producer and technician.

I am a professional musician and viola players with 14 years of experience in symphonic orchestra and chamber music projects with concerts all around the world (Greece,Germany, NYC, China). I have been classically trained from a young age at violin, singing, piano, music theory and harmony and viola. I have a Bachelor in Viola Performance and I have done seminars in Violin performance, Viola Performance and pedagogy. I was born in Italy, raised in Nigeria and moved to Chicago in 2015 to start college at VanderCook College of Music. I graduated in 2019 with a music education degree with PEL license to teach K-12 music, band, orchestra and choir. I have loved my time teaching ever since I stepped foot into the classroom. Though I am primarily a saxophone player, I am currently teaching 2nd and 3rd grade violin, 4th-8th grade band classes. Hi! My name is Sam Tucker, a violin teacher specializing in young children or any beginner! I have been playing the violin for over 12 years and teaching for over 3 years. I have a background in music production as well. I attended Azmyth School of Music Technology after high school and gained experience working professionally as a mixing and mastering engineer, all while teaching violin at the same time. I grew up in Indianapolis where I played with the New World Youth Orchestra as well as played all 4 years in high school as a first chair violinist. I started teaching violin right after high school to younger kids looking to start their music career! I also briefly worked at Back to Rock, an in person music teaching facility, before I moved to South Bend Indiana. I am well equipped when working with beginners, helping them achieve their goals as a strings player. I follow the Essential Elements guide for learning the violin as that is how I learned when I was young.
