I have been a performing musicians for over 53 years and counting. I have worked with the following Grammy winning artists: Carlos Santana, Eddie Palmieri, Gloria Estefan, Gloria Gaynor, Sergio Mendes and many many others. I have also created my own syllabus for teaching how to play the Conga drum, tha i have used as an Adjunct Lecturer at the following instituions of learning.. University of Miami-Dept. of Perc. 1990-92. Music Works Bellevue WA 2003-05-Latin perc., Cornish College of the Arts- Substitute teacher for the Latin ensemble, Shoreline .C C. Shoreline WA- Adjunct Lecturer 2012-2013. I have also been teaching Online and have had students in the following countries, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, France, England, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Poland and others..

I'm a professional musician based in London, I've been playing and performing music for over 16 years. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in recording, performing and touring within numerous musical environments from orchestras to touring bands throughout the UK & Europe. Some of my highlights include: supporting The Psychedelic Furs on their 2018 European tour, opening for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds & Patti Smith at All Points East Festival, singing backing vocals for The Divine Comedy on their album Foreverland, playing percussion on numerous tours for The Doctors of Madness around the UK and a 3-month tour of Europe with Australian folk/rock band The Wishing Well. I am highly motivated and passionate about teaching and educated to degree level (Creative Musicianship). I have demonstrable success in tutoring pupils to the highest of standards in the Trinity and Rockschool syllabi with each of my private pupils entered for an exam achieving a grade of merit or higher. Also, I am confident in applying my experience to larger groups to one-to-one private lessons. I have sound communication and relationship management skills, being able to quickly understand pupils learning abilities and deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to specific individuals needs, where I can encourage pupils personal growth and their passion for music. TEACHING APPROACH My teaching approach varies depending on the individual student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I work with each pupil to set their own realistic and achievable goals. Depending on the student's goals, ability and understanding I usually start from a base that utilises their personal musical interests and moves gradually towards more complex areas which can include technique, independence and creativity as their confidence builds. Throughout the learning process, I use questions and examples to check their understanding and progression continually. I don’t lecture my students or ask them to memorise things. I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring and sharing the knowledge I have gained with my students. I take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential as they rapidly progress and surpass their goals.

Hello, I'm a music teacher based in southeast London, my specialisation is Drums, with over 15 years of experience in live and studio settings, along with seven years of teaching experience. I teach all abilities – from complete beginner to advanced players. Whatever style you may have in mind, I can teach you these include jazz, salsa, samba, folk, rock, indie, and electronic. In addition, I teach music theory up to ASRBM grade 5. I will guide you through the basics (it’s all about putting the fun in the fundamentals!) and help you polish your skills as you progress. I’m Ian Tripp, a professional drummer and drum/percussion teacher based in Brighton. I trained at the Guildhall School of Music (class of 2004), and since then I’ve had opportunities to perform and record around the world — from Australia to Uruguay — including sessions at Abbey Road and Maida Vale. Over the past 20+ years I’ve taught over 1,000 students, guiding them through everything from basic rhythm and technique, to graded exams (Trinity Rock & Pop), band rehearsals, and real performance settings. Whether you’re just starting out or pushing toward advanced levels, my lessons are tailored to your goals. I believe drumming should be fun, expressive, and deeply musical. I offer both online and in-person lessons, and I’m also a professor of Drum Kit / Percussion at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham. Over the past seven years, I’ve had the joy of teaching flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, guitar, and violin to students of all ages and skill levels. My musical journey has led me to direct ensembles and choirs, as well as found the Academy of St. Cecilia, where I focus on nurturing both technical skills and a deep love for music in church and community settings. As a teacher, I believe every student learns differently. That’s why I adapt each lesson to individual goals—whether you’re discovering your very first notes, polishing your tone, or preparing for a performance. My approach combines strong technical foundations like breath control, finger technique, and theory with the joy of self-expression and artistry. Toured with EMI Records around Spain and Venezuela. Made a music album with my band Luna Negra with EMI Records ‘Pintando Maravillas’. Played at the Beijing Olympics. Played for the Cuban National Ballet. My name is Luis and I am from Cuba but I have been living and working as a musician and teacher around Asia for over 15 years. In my free time I love to be in nature, especially swimming in the ocean. I also enjoy riding my bike, playing football or doing yoga. Exercising helps me to stay healthy and relaxed. However, music is my passion. I have been playing percussion since I was 9 years old and I still study so that I continue to improve. In the evenings, I play the drums, Conga, and sing in my band Luna Negra. When I am not working as a musician I like to dance Salsa with my friends or watch films. When I am feeling inspired, I also write songs.
