I am a versatile and experienced music educator and performer. Over the course of my musical career I have had the privilege of working in a variety of musical styles and venues, including: The Edinburgh Fringe with 'Saxtet'; The Derngate with Northhampton Symphony Orchestra; The Killerton Festival with The Drifters; Butlins with a variety of acts including Bucks Fizz and Jackie Graham; Sanctuary AG, Chicago as a solo singer/songwriter; and many more. I was a "Search for a Star" national finalist, 2001 and in the same year played Lieutenant Cable in South Pacific at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness. Up until February 2015 I lead many music departments at secondary level teaching GCSE and BTEC Level 2 with considerable success in helping his students to become productive musicians with a love for music. I consider my greatest educational achievement to be the Director of Specialist Music Status at William Lovell CE School. My main instrument is bass, trained at Birmingham Conservatoire, and offers both electric and double bass as a skilled reading player. I am able to accommodate most musical styles. In addition I am an accomplished singer, guitarist and pianist. I have been known to play in pit on percussion as well and can even play the Tuba!

Marc plays Trumpet and Flugelhorn, to compliment different genres and timbres of music. He performs on the legendary Eclipse Artist Trumpet for a truly beautiful vintage sound. Marc can also cater for all different type of events and play as self contained setup with equipment if required. I began began studying the trumpet at the age of eighteen. My close friends encouraged me throughout my early years, having been professional musicians themselves. I soon developed a passion for playing trumpet. During that time i've played in various bands including “Flora Symphony Orchestra”, “The Quirinus Band & Bugle Corps”, “High Five Brass Quintet” and the Party and Cover Band “Die Kleinenbroicher” to name just a few. In 2011 I was given the enviable opportunity to study and advance my Big Band skills with the world-famous trumpeter Thomas Inderka. I also studied with the international trumpet legend, Gábor Tarkövi, one of the worlds best classical and solo trumpeters. During my time at the Quirinus Band and Bugle Corps I have been the principal trumpeter and regularly appearing on many Military Tattoos. I am as well a respected Trumpet teacher and have been teaching for many years. My extensive touring has seen visits to various parts of Europe. Throughout my career I have performed at some of the best venues, and with many famous artists in the world.

Drums, Trumpet, Cornet

I have been a drum and trumpet tutor to students in primary school, secondary school, right through to retirees looking for a new (or to rekindle their old) passion for music. I have a wide playing experience from classical ensembles, orchestras, cuban big bands, jazz bands, ska bands, pop bands, tribute bands and klezmer bands along with my work as a studio session musician and of course an instrumental tutor. I am currently the peripatetic drum tutor at two large secondary schools alongside my private roster (totalling around 60 one-to-one lessons per week). I also teach via video conference call online to those whose location makes travelling impractical. Currently due to the current coronavirus situation I am teaching all 60+ lessons online via the zoom platform. *TRUMPET*: I teach the trumpet as an instrument not a genre; much of the technique I pass over is based in the classical style as I find this creates players who can perform with ease but I also teach my pupils to improvise, to play from memory, music theory and even some composition while they master the instrument itself. Smiles and enjoyment are at the top of the list for music, after all, that is the point right? I find this produces well rounded AND MOTIVATED players who can apply themselves to almost any situation. This holistic style of education encompasses all styles, not just classical pieces - so if you are interested in something specific just let me know! Starting with a solid technical routine my students build up their skills in directions which interest them. *DRUMS*: As a drum tutor I present a rather different set of ideas, still based in good solid technique and theory but much more based in popular music; I do not teach classical percussion as I am not myself a classical percussionist. I draw from my extensive background in band playing and show work (musicals, tributes) to initially provide students with the select tools they need to get out playing with other musicians; we then work on deepening their knowledge and expending their tools to tackle much more interesting yet taxing opportunities. Much of the work that will need to be completed between lessons can be done on a practice pad though access to a drum kit will be needed in some shape or form, especially if the pupil is to remain engaged and driven (be this acoustic or electric). *GENERAL*: Over the years my interest in the challenges of playing have lead me to investigate very thoroughly the techniques and physical difficulties of playing the instruments which are numerous yet solvable when approached in an informed and calm manner. *QUALIFICATIONS*: Ba(hons) Music 2:1 (1st class in performance modules), ABRSM Grade 8 (Merit) Trumpet, ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory

Being a teacher means taking responsibility. You accompany each individual student individually in a section of his or her career. It fascinates me to pursue a common goal with the students and to find a way that promotes their enthusiasm for making music. As a Brass teacher for Euphonium, Bariton, Tenorhorn, Trombone, I set "pedagogical impulses", they support the musical development of the student and his personality. Making music strengthens social skills, students learn to take responsibility and use their creativity. I myself learned to play the trumpet from the age of four. before I began studying classical trumpet in 2005 at the “Conservatorium van Amsterdam” with Professor Theo Wolters. At the same time, I participated in the "Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra". I successfully completed my studies in 2007 with a diploma. In the same year I moved to Munich and became a permanent member of the Jakobsplatz orchestra and for some projects I played in the Junge Münchner Philharmonie. .Since 2019 I live in Denmark and i am a Brass teacher im Flensburg amd Schleswig music schools.I am the musical director of the Pa's Brass band, Schafflund, Germany, and i am the music conductor of the Schleswig youth orchestra. As well i am a member of severas Brass bands in Denmark. I offer professional Brass instruments (Bariton, Tenorhorn, Euphonium, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba) lessons for children from the age of four, for teenagers and adults. Whether beginner or advanced, that doesn't matter to me.
