I am a dedicated and experienced music educator and professional musician with over 30 years of experience. My journey in music education began in the early 1990s, shortly after completing my formal music studies. Since then, I have developed a strong passion for teaching, with a focus on modern music theory, jazz guitar, and composition. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students, helping them develop their musical skills in various instruments and styles. My teaching approach includes modern harmony, sight-reading, composition, and improvisation, with lessons tailored to each student's needs and goals. From 2000 to 2015, I was heavily involved in the music industry as a professional musician. I performed extensively, both as a solo artist and as part of collaborative projects, working with other musicians across various genres. During this time, I also composed original music for theater and film, showcasing my versatility and creativity as a composer. My work is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, iTunes, and others, where listeners can explore my compositions. Since 2015, I have been teaching music full-time in Germany at various music schools. My primary instrument is the jazz guitar, but I also offer lessons in piano, keyboards, ukulele, and bass. I take pride in helping students master not only their instrument but also the theoretical foundations of music, from modern harmony to composition. I work with students of all levels, guiding them through performance preparation, sight-reading, and developing their own compositions. In addition to teaching and performing, I continue to compose music and collaborate with other artists. My work reflects a deep understanding of diverse musical styles, and I am committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians through both my lessons and my compositions.

My goal is to make you better and to improve as fast as possible. I am confident that together we can achieve that. With that said, rest assured, it's going to be a lot of fun! Here is what I can help you with: ♪ Music Theory and Harmony, Analysis ♪ Ear Training ♪ Trombone Performance + All brass Instruments ♪ Composition ♪ Improvisation ♪ Musicality, Musicianship - telling a story ♪ Sight Reading Music Theory and Harmony, Analysis - The mathematics and symmetry of Mozart’s piano sonatas, the mysterious beauty of Stravinsky’s Petrushka chord...how can twelve simple notes produce such varied and opposing musical outcomes? This question has engrossed my imagination since I began playing trombone at the age of 10. I began composing at age 12 by improvising on the trombone and the piano. Later, I would record my improvisations, transcribe and edit them, and publish short pieces. This curiosity and creativity still excites me today and I want to share it with you! I have a passion for music theory, and I think theory is very important for all musicians, especially performers, to better understand their craft. I love to teach theory, having taught more than 50 music theory students over the past few years. I will teach you anything you want to know about chords, harmonic functions and progressions, voice leading, musical forms, analysis and many more subtopics of this fascinating field. Ear training - Having developed over the years exceptional hearing abilities, I have devised a special method that helps my students identify intervals and chords by associations. I will teach you how to remember an interval/ chord by its quality/timbre. Trombone Performance + All brass Instruments - I studied with the best trombone and brass teachers in the world. I took masterclasses with the best of the best, top of the field brass legends. There is so much knowledge that I have acquired over the years and I am eager to share it with more students. Composition - Whether you want to be a professional composer or you are a performer that wants to broaden horizons, learning how to express yourself is a crucial ability for a musician. Exploring your ideas and making them into music is a creative process that requires a lot of patience and skill. I will teach you how to find your voice. Improvisation - I believe that every musician should incorporate improvisation techniques in their practice room. Often, we get bored practicing the same things again and again. Improvisation helps us increase creativity, explore our musiciality, evade boredom and have more fun. I will teach you the main principles I use and show you how to include improvisation in daily practice. Musicianship, telling a story - Very often I see students so focused on technique that they completely forget the main thing. If you want to be a good musician, you do not need to play the fastest, the loudest or the highest. While these things can impress some people, I believe the main thing would be the message we convey to the audience when we perform. The story behind the notes. I will teach you how to make that a priority in your playing. Sight Reading - If you want to get better fast, practicing sight reading is a must. Knowing how to read music quickly and with minimum mistakes is important to every musician. There are some basic tips and principles that are often not taught. However, I believe knowing those will help you improve drastically. I will teach you exactly how to do that.

II’m a third-generation drummer and bandleader from New York, now based in Barcelona. I started playing drums at age 8, picked up guitar at 14, and have been performing professionally since my early teens. Over the last 21 years, I've played venues and festivals across England, Wales, Austria, Switzerland, and Spain, collaborating with some of the most respected musicians in these regions. My three releases as a bandleader have received positive reviews and airplay across traditional and internet radio stations in six countries. Here’s what a few reviewers have to say: “As a drummer, Castelli is dominant while ironically not appearing to dominate the tunes. His drumming fades in and out, and when he comes out from the shadows, you realize you’re listening to a guy who is in the same league as Tony Williams, Billy Cobham, and Art Blakey.” — George R. Glasser, Jazz Syndicate, England “You feel carried away into the world of Afro-Cuban music, West African rhythms, jazz rock of the '70s and '80s with rhythm par excellence. It’s your own fault if you don’t move with such a rhythmic design!” — Ferdinand Dupius-Panther, Jazz Halo, Belgium “The opening and the closing tracks on this album point to greatness—a vision of the future of jazz. Soulful, provocative forums for improvisation that exceed the usual standards.” — T. Bruce Wittet, Drummer and Journalist for Downbeat, Modern Drummer USA, and Drums Etc Canada I'm thrilled to continue exploring the dynamic world of rhythm and sharing my passion for music with listeners around the world.
