I'm a pianist and composer based in London and a Royal Academy of Music alumni(Bmus, MA). I have been teaching piano, music theory, production, improvisation skills, and composition privately for 5 years and since 2020 in the Halcyon International School. Having a holistic approach to music teaching, ensuring that students become well-rounded musicians, and develop a love and passion for music. I teach students from 8 years old to Adults. As an experienced performer across classical, pop, jazz, indie, and many other genres, I am able to guide students through anything style of music they want to learn. I am also able to prepare students for exam entry up to Grade 8 level. Enhanced DBS checked and Child Protection in Education - Level 2 I am fluent in Greek, English and basic level in Spanish and Lithuanian.

​​A UK-based versatile flautist, cellist, conductor and teacher, Sarah has many years of experience as a professional soloist, ensemble musician and runs a successful teaching practice offering both face-to-face and online lessons. With 20 years of experience as a teacher Sarah regularly holds lessons in schools, at home and online. Having worked with young children and adults alike, Sarah welcomes enquiries from students of all ages and abilities. From complete beginners to the more advanced, being passionate about what she does, Sarah helps her students to achieve their goals by encouraging expression, exploration, and most importantly, enjoyment for music. This fun and friendly environment has meant students have continued lessons long term with Sarah and she has even enjoyed watching many of them grow and progress for their full 7 years through secondary school and sixth form, with countless excellent results for both ABRSM and Trinity grades. That said, there is never any pressure for students to take exams and Sarah is just as excited to work with those who really just want to play and progress for fun! Music is not about competition, 'box ticking' or feeling like you have to follow others. It's about finding your voice, sharing your love of music and making your own goals!

I taught myself music from scratch. It was a rough process. But it made me firmly believe anyone can learn music. If you can count to 8, you can play music on nearly any instrument. Musicians make music seem more complicated than it actually is. I love teaching music theory like a language and I think it's important to start jamming as soon as possible. Before I was a music teacher, I was a behavioral therapist working with non vocal clients with autism. I do my best to condense lessons into a series of behaviors that build over time and teach a strong understanding of music theory.

How can you differentiate the good teacher from the vast majority of ordinary teachers?​Firstly, it is a big myth that famous musicians are by default good teachers. Most famous musicians did not consciously study the process of learning and the many different ways of acquiring musical results because they were very gifted students and guided to success by their own teachers. Acquiring a successful teaching methodology requires a lot of dedication, time and patience, which many famous musicians would not have due to their intensive practice, concert and recording schedule. Ordinary teachers plan their teaching for the next few months based on the student’s or the parent’s goals. The good teacher is the student’s mentor and coach, establishes for himself a long-term vision and larger goals and takes the expectations and learning step by step. The good teacher is also confident to disagree with the student or parent if it would hinder the student’s progress and reach the larger goal. The vast majority of teachers are able to correctly assess a student’s weaker areas to be worked on overall, but only the good teacher judges the abilities and character of the student right and prioritizes what is needed right now in order to motivate and reach best progress. Most teachers have established a small repertoire of teaching material, from which they source all exercises for all their students. The good teacher perpetually strives to find the exactly right material for each student from a vast collection of knowledge and books, adding more flexibility and diversity to his collection all the time. The good teacher is also not afraid of sharing the well kept secrets from the old masters to help his students prosper. Average teachers plan their teaching around the fixed contracted time with the student. The good teacher does not measure teaching success with lesson duration and dedicates extra time if it helps the student reach the goal of the lesson. Many of my students successfully gained a scholarship for private schools in Australia, reached their ABRSM exams in Ireland or passed their conservatorium auditions. The success of my lessons is based on 25 years of experience as professional concert musician and the wisdom passed down from my teachers Charles Neidich, Karl Leister, Walter Boeykens, Philippe Cuper, Willem van der Vuurst, Leo van Tool, Einar Johannesson, Ronald van Spaendonck, Ralph Manno, Marco Thomas, Anatoly Moratof and Harmen de Boer.

I am a singer/ songwriter. I usually accompany myself with the ukulele or the keyboard. I went to a performing arts high school where I graduated as a music major and I am currently attending New England Institute of Technology for Digital Media Production in hopes of one day becoming an audio engineer. I volunteer at my local church and have always loved working with kids. I also have experience in teaching kids and pre- teens music as I have been able to participate in a few music programs throughout the years.

I am a professional guitarist and music teacher. I have an academic background in Jazz and Audio production, I performed and toured internationally playing pop, rock, funk, jazz. My guitar lessons (electric, acoustic or classical) are tailored to your specific needs and interests, that may range from learning your favorite songs, learning how to improvise or reading music notation. As I myself, started to learn the violin at the age of 3, I've got decent experience by studying and working with various people. It's already 5 years I have been working with students, as professional interest, as people, who wanted to study the violin just as a hobby to make their childhood dream come true.
